Medical Research
How we read medical research
Our editorial standards for analyzing clinical trials, peer-reviewed protocols, and fundamental discoveries, with limitations stated plainly.
Scope of research
What current clinical research covers
We follow randomized controlled trials, observational cohorts, and laboratory discoveries across oncology and other specialties. Each study is placed in the context of the question it was designed to answer.
Ongoing trials are interpreted with care: an interim result is not a final conclusion, and a promising signal often needs replication before it can inform practice.

Editorial method
How our desk validates a study
01
Identify the source
We begin with the peer-reviewed publication and its registered protocol, noting the funding and conflicts of interest declared by the authors.
02
Examine the design
We separate primary endpoints from secondary and exploratory outcomes, and check whether the sample size supports the conclusions drawn.
03
Assess reproducibility
We compare findings with prior studies and state where evidence is preliminary, single-center, or not yet replicated.
04
State the limits
Every article closes with the limitations of the work and a clear boundary between what the study shows and what it does not.
